Ontario announces additional nominations for 2017

An additional nomination allocation for 2017 has been received by one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program i.e. the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. The news was initially released on the 18th of December.

Ontario’s Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration spokesperson has said that the exact number of the candidates would be announced later.

This news was made after the update which was done on November 22nd in which the OINP met its allocation of 6,000 nominations under the Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program for 2017.

After the release of this news, the OINP will continue to process the applications and it will issue nominations until additional allocations are met.

Also, any application which is submitted which exceeds the OINP’s nomination would also be processed and the applicants who succeed will be nominated in 2018.

Ontario’s Immigrant Nomination Program will accept applications under the 10 different immigration streams.

Due to the federal government multi-year immigration plan, Ontario will benefit from larger allocation in 2018, which was announced last month in November. Canada had a Provincial Nominee Program of about 51,000 allotments but it is said that it will increase to 55,000 in 2018.

The federal plan also calls for a 32 per cent increase in the Provincial Nominee Program which will be between 2017 and 2020.
